Home-Brined Red Wine Kalamata Olives

Deep, savory, wine-brined.

These Kalamata olives come to us through relatives in Kalamata. Their dark fruit and red-wine brine bring a deeper, rounder table character. Serve them simply with bread, feta, vegetables and a pour of the estate olive oil.

Hand-Cracked Green Olives

Bright, rustic, unmistakably green.

Vlastades are from Zakynthos, Greece — the green-olive side of our family table. The olives are cracked by hand before brining, a traditional preparation that lets the brine work into the fruit and gives the finished olive its lively, rustic character.

Olives.

Two traditional table olives, connected by family and prepared in two distinctly Maroudas ways.

Our Kalamata olives come through relatives in Kalamata, where the dark fruit belongs to the landscape and table tradition that gave the olive its name. Vlastades are from Zakynthos, Greece — the green, hand-cracked expression of our own island pantry. Both are meant for the center of the table with bread, cheese, wine and good company.
